George Pal's The Great Rupert
In Pal's first feature film, Jimmy Durante stars in one of his most memorable screen performances in this heart-warming tale of a lovable trained squirrel who inadvertently helps a family of vaudeville performers down on their luck. The squirrel animated through Pal's Academy Award-winning Puppetoon® technique, looked so realistic that audiences thought he was an actual animal. Directed by Irving Pichel.
